For almost 75 years, the Animal Welfare Association (AWA) has been helping homeless animals find a better life with a loving family. Could it be you? If you're up for helping him appreciate the finer things in life (without using his mouth), he’s ready for the journey! Read more about Ollie at our adoptions page, or follow his adventures with #adventurecat #getyourrescueon #unicornadopterneeded #phillypawsfoster #phillypaws. We’d also consider a Working Cat placement for Ollie, where he lives at a business with safe indoor/outdoor access but not too many strangers.

He’s searching for a quiet adult home where he can safely spend time outdoors - a screened porch, a catio, or walking on a harness around the neighborhood are all great options for him! While Ollie clearly loves the luxuries of indoor life, he’s also an adventurer who would thrive as indoor/outdoor kitty or even a Working Cat. Play time with toys has been a great energy outlet to keep his brain active, and he loves carrying his stuffed fish through the house and even watching TV! The great news is that Ollie has made huge progress in his foster home, and is a truly endearing companion who will sleep at your feet and chirp at you to get your attention. Get him too revved up, and he might decide that hands and legs are just giant toys to be chased and chomped! He's just a smart, energetic boy who missed out on his kitten socialization, and sometimes gets so excited he doesn’t know what to do with himself. It’s not that Olllie is trying to be a jerk. But he also operates on a ‘look, don't touch’ system - he can pet you, but generally asks that you don’t pet him (yes, sigh). He loves to spend time with his people, and will follow you around purring and rubbing on your leg.

Sweet, spicy, and full of contradictions, Ollie can seem like an enigma at first glance. If you’re a savvy cat person with a soft spot for project pets and adorable weirdos, read on! It's not every day you see a cat in the woods, but Ollie isn't just any cat! He's a one-of-a-kind guy seeking a one-of-a-kind home. #getyourrescueon #fosteringsaveslives #dogsofphilly #rescuedog #phillypaws.

He’s hoping to find a quiet foster home where he can be the only pet (or have just one other low-key dog friend), with humans who can show him the world isn’t such a scary or unpredictable place.Ĭould that be you? Email to learn more about Denny today! Ideally his foster home would be familiar with training large dogs using positive reinforcement, and if not already familiar or experienced, has the time and interest to grow their skills! Once comfortable, you get to see Denny’s playful and affectionate side.

His sweet nature and “teenager” goofiness combine for a lot of silly antics, and we know that with continued love and support, he’ll only show more of his delightful and endearing personality! Sweet and sensitive Denny is still dreaming of a foster home! This young pup found himself at the shelter after his owner passed away, and is understandably overwhelmed by his new circumstances. #getyourreascueon #kittenseason #ringwormkittens #fosteringsaveslives #rescuekittens #phillypaws. 🔹 We have twice weekly “dip days” at our Grays Ferry clinics for ringworm fosters/adopters to drop their kitties off for medicated baths - no need to do it at home! 🔹 It usually takes 4-8 weeks to clear up (and many of these babies are already a few weeks into their treatment)! 🔹 It’s a mild infection, but contagious to people and pets, so a separate room for fosters is the best way to prevent it from spreading during treatment.

🔹 It’s not a worm - it’s a fungal infection of the skin that usually shows up as small patches of hair loss in pets. To foster or adopt one or more of our adorable fungal felines, email with the subject “ringworm kittens”! The upside is that when they do get to go home, they’re beside themselves with happiness and brimming with affection!įosters and adopters who open their homes to ringworm kitties can attest that they’re some of the most friendly and loving cats you’ll meet, and all it takes to change a life is a separate space in your home and a few weeks of TLC. 3 ringworm kittens found homes this week (woohoo!) but 10 still remain at the shelter who are hoping their turn will be next!īecause ringworm is so easy to spread, cats and kittens who test positive for this skin infection have to be fully isolated while they’re at the shelter, which is heartbreaking for friendly felines who just want love and attention from their human companions.
